Les actions s’articulent autour de deux piliers : la préservation ďécosystèmes cruciaux, notamment par le “ré-ensauvagement”, et la perpétuation ďactivités traditionnelles comme la pêche. Snowchange Finland est le centre historique de l’ONG, mais de nombreuses antennes ont été créées dans plusieurs pays du cercle arctique avec des vocations similaires. L’ONG emploie à temps plein une dizaine de personnes, salariés et stagiaires. L’organisation a pour ambition de construire le premier centre dédié au ré-ensauvagement en Europe dans ses nouveaux locaux, une ancienne école située à Tohmajärvi.</p> <p>Lien vers le site internet de Snowchange : http://www.snowchange.org/</p> <h2 id="snowchange-presentation">Snowchange presentation</h2> <p>Snowchange is a finnish NGO which aims at protecting nature and carrying on local traditions.</p> <p>Based in Joensuu, east of Finland, the cooperative fights for more than twenty years the growing effects of climate change and plebiscites a sustainable gestion of nature. The actions are motivated by two reasons : the preservation of crucial ecosystems, especially thanks to the “rewilding” activity, and the carrying on of traditional activities such as fishing. Snowchange Finland is the historical core of the NGO, but it is now located in many other countries of the artic circle and aims at the same objectives. The NGO employs full-time a dozen people, employees and interns.
